Where Traditions Continue and Legends are born!

Nothing brings the  goosebumps when you are standing on the dirt that legends have ran across- Affirmed, Seattle Slew, Secretariat, Citation, and War Admiral to name a few! 165,000 people on their feet as the National Anthem is sung, followed by “My Kentucky Home”. This is the Kentucky Derby!

The first Saturday in May is what trainers, owners and jocks train year round for, and begins the dreams and hopes of so many horseman. The running of the roses is a step back to traditions started in the 1800′s. Before there was baseball, football, hockey, and basketball, HORSE RACING was it! The Kentucky Derby is the start of the Triple Crown that demands the endurance, speed, and health of these large power creatures. No horse has completed the sweep of the Triple Crown since 1978! (Affirmed)

I have been able to photograph some pretty cool events, but nothing compares to The Kentucky Derby! You just have to be there to see it! Please enjoy these images from the  138th Kentucky Oaks and 138TH Kentucky Derby!
